2 Piece Disposable
2 part e-cigarette consisting of a battery and cartomizer.
3 part e-cigarette consisting of a battery, atomizer and cartridge.
Traditional tobacco cigarette.
A style of an e-cig battery that activates the heating element when the user takes a draw instead of pressing a button.
Cartridges or cartomizers with dry filler. You fill these empty cartridge/cartos with liquid.
Cartomizer Dual coil
Has 2 coils instead of the standard single coil. It produces twice as much vapor or the same amount twice as fast from the standard.
Cartomizer Single Coil
Standard cartomizer that has 1 coil.
Tube that holds e-liquid. The cartomizer is placed in the middle of the tank.
The part of a three piece electronic cigarette which contains the liquid. It is stuffed with filler material to hold the juice. These come either empty or prefilled.
A battery charger used to recharge your e-cig battery.
A transparant tank with a wick and heating element that does not contain stuffing. It allows users to see how much liquid they have left in the tank.
A kanthal or nichrome wire that heats up the e-liquid to produce the vapor.
To remove the bridge and wick from an atomizer, often times for the purpose of direct dripping.
To dip the bridge of the atomizer in e-liquid.
A term meaning to take a puff on a cigarette or inhale smoke.
A tube that slips over your atomizer that will catch the occasional lead and prevent it from damaging your PV.
Used to prevent excess e-liquid leaking from the atomizer into the battery.
To smoke with a dry cartridge often times to get the old previously used flavor out of the device.
Electronic Cigarette Forum – one of the largest forums on the web that offers resources for electronic cigarettes.
Has the same components of an electronic cigarette, but looks like a cigar.
A device that heats up a liquid mixture that is then inhaled and produces vapor.
E-Liquid / E-Juice
A liquid mixture consisting of propylene glycol, vegetable glycerin, flavoring and optionally nicotine. It is used in an electronic cigarette and vaporizes when heated and inhaled. Also referred to as smoke juice, juice, or liquid.
Food and Drug Administration.
The material inside the cartridge that absorbs the liquid often polyfil material.
When an excessive amount of liquid is put into an atomizer.
High Voltage (typically a 5-6 volt device)
Lithium Ion Manganese Rechargeable Battery.
When the liquid that was added to an atomizer or cartomizer leaks out onto the battery and possibly damaging the device.
Light Emitting Diode (LED)
A light in an electronic cigarette indicating that the device is in use.
Low Resistance (LR)
An atomizer or cartomizer with a lower Ohm rating than the standard equipment. This generally causes the heating element to get hotter faster and produces vapor more quickly. In many cases it produces more vapor than an atty or carto that has a standard resistance rating.
milliamp and measure of power in a battery.
An electronic cigarette battery that requires the user to activate by pressing on a button in order to take a draw and exhale vapor.
The amount of nicotine found in a e-liquid.
A styles of electronic cigarette that are small and compact like a traditional cigarette but with a smaller battery comes a shorter lifespan.
Mod (Mechanical Mod)
A modified or custom built e-cig to enhance performance. An alteration of the design that was manufactured with the purpose of producing more vapor, flavor, voltage or extend battery life.
Placed on or attached to the atomizer or cartomizer.
Not containing Propylene Glycol. Often times, it means Vegetable Glycerin in used instead.
Nicotine Replacement Therapy.
The SI unit of electrical resistance. The higher the ohms, the higher the resistance. (Low ohms=hotter, high ohms=cooler)
The act of sucking on the mouthpiece to pull vapor into your mouth.
Personal Vaporizer (PV)
Another term for electronic cigarette.
Rebuildable Drip Atomizer.
A term referring to an electronic cigarette emphasizing that no actual smoke is produced, but rather vapor.
Another term for filler.
A type cartridge that holds the e-liquid often times used with a cartomizer.
Throat Hit (TH)
The tingling feeling in the back of the throat when vaping liquid with nicotine content.
To use an e-cig. Because e-cigarettes produce vapor rather than smoke, the term vaping is more accurate to describe the action.
The amount of vapor produced when using an e-cig.
The mist that is exhaled when using an electronic cigarette. Looks like smoke.
Vegetable Glycerin (VG)
An ingredient in e-liquid that produces vapor when heated and inhaled. It is used as a replacement for people who are allergic to Propylene Glycol. Typically, VG is know to produce more vapor than PG.
A polystring attached to the atomizer that carries the liquid to the heating element.
